Mad

My injury is not showing any signs of improvement but it is not getting worse. I ran five days out of seven. Easy runs of thirty minutes. My base training for the fall is not going too well. The cross country season will start next month.

Saturday
Day off.

Sunday
Back to the IV trail. Short beautiful rolling hills. Very hot day. But the trees provided a nice shade. I had not run  on this trail for a long time. Total run time: 39 minutes and 21 seconds.

Monday
Finally I am back on my bike. I did a few short bike rides and a four miles plus on the local track. My left foot is very painful. Total run time: 28 minutes and 9 seconds.

Tuesday
I rode my bike to the local track where I started my run. The usual bike path out and back route. My legs felt good. Total run time: 31 minutes and 30 seconds.

Wednesday
Day off.

Thursday
Easy run on the bike path. It was the usual out and back route finishing by the laundry mat. Total run time: 36 minutes.

Friday
I rode my bike to the bike path. Windy day. I decided to back off and just do a few laps around the soccer field. It was over twenty laps. Pull ups. Total run time: 33 minutes and 30 seconds.

Transfer

Many times I thought about getting riddle of my old cassette tapes. But finally I decide to transfer them to the mp3 format. The cost was very low and worth my time.

You can download an open source software like Audacity for free, and buy a cassette player with USB port on eBay really cheap. I was surprised how good the recording transfer was. So far I have transferred  ten cassette tapes to the mp3 format. I am very happy with the results.

Simple

My injury is not getting better but I managed to do a minimum of easy runs during this past week. Maybe I should be happy that at least I can be out there and do my runs.  I have not planned any races for the near future. But I might do some fun run to test my fitness.

Saturday
Very easy run on the bike path, out and back. I am trying to back off on my running. Hope to get this injury under control. Very sore feet. I can barely walk without pain.

Sunday
No long run. I ran the same route as Saturday but at a faster pace. My legs felt better. No pain during my run. Total run time: 30 minutes and 24 seconds.

Monday
Very short run to keep some endurance on the Overhill trail. My legs felt good. I did not feel much pain during my run. I finished with a few easy strides.

Tuesday
Another very short run. Same route as Monday. The plantar fasciitis did not bother me.

Wednesday
A good run without pain. I ran three times the Oakwood Valley trail loop.(9:57; 9:20; 9:00) My legs felt great. My problems is not speed, but endurance for now. Total run time: 28 minutes and 17 seconds.

Thursday
Good day. I started by the local track and run to the Oakwood Valley trail. I did twice the Oakwood Valley trail loop and finish my run by the laundry mat.  My feet felt OK. Total run time:  37 minutes and 35 seconds.

Friday
Very hot day. I ran from the local track to the soccer fields. My feet were feeling OK. I ran a few loops around the soccer fields and stopped every 6-10 minutes to do a few pull ups. Total run time: 37 minutes and 30 seconds.

Heat

At this time of the year I should be doing some high mileage but things are not working out well. My plantar fasciitis and heel inflammation are not going away. I made a few mistakes that caused my injury: run on hard surfaces; run too many hilly routes; lift weighs; not enough stretch of the calf muscles; work; shoe's support.

Saturday
Easy run on the bike path out and back. I was feeling a little tired after work. Total run time: 32 minutes and 42 seconds.

Sunday
Hilly run. From home to the Oakwood Valley Trail and up to Alta Fired rd. I ran down Old Springs and back to  Oakwood Valley trail. From there I ran the same route back home. My heels are very inflamed, very painful. Not a good idea run hills when you have plantar fasciitis. Total run time: 1 hour and 44 minutes.

Monday
Long working day. No time to run.

Tuesday
Day off.

Wednesday
Easy run on the bike path. I was feeling very tired. Plantar fasciitis is very painful. Total run time: 33 minutes and 12 seconds.

Thursday
Day off. Another long working day.

Friday
Easy run on the Oakwood Valley trail. I ran three times the loop. I started slow and gradually increased the pace.(10:33; 9:48; 9:21)

Pain

Very short running week. I am dealing with an inflamed heel. It became so sensitive to the touch. I usually feel the pain early morning and after sitting for a while. It goes away and comes back again. I might have to take a few days off.

Saturday
Very hot day. I ran from home to the bike path, staying on the bike path most of my run, adding a loop around the soccer fields and heading back home. Plantar fasciitis is getting worse. Total run time: 1 hour and 14 minutes.

Sunday
Day off. My left foot was very sore and painful. I need to stretch more, specially my calves.

Monday
Easy run on the soccer fields. I did ten laps around two soccer fields. Nice soft surface. Pull ups after run. Total run time: 30 minutes.

Tuesday
Another easy run around the soccer fields adding a short incline. I ran five times the loop. No pain on my heels or foot, but it is still very sore and painful. Back doing ice, stretches and massage. Total run time: 33 minutes. Upper body weights and pull ups. I lifted weights on a sitting position so I didn't aggravate my plantar fasciitis injury.

Wednesday
Another day off. Very sore heels.

Thursday
Good day. I ran from home  to the bike path, out and back with a loop around the soccer fields and back home. My feet did not  bother me. Total run time: 1 hour and 5 minutes, or 9.1 miles.

Friday
Day off. Work became priority. Very sore heels.
